Palaces of Prayer. An exhibition of Photography by Laszlo Regos
This coming October 29, it will go on view at the Angel Orensanz Foundation the exhibition Palaces of Prayer, an exhibition of over 60 large format color photographs of synagogues by the internationally renowned photographer Laszlo Regos. The artist reception is on Thursday October 28, 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Palaces of Prayer presents an extraordinary representation of Regos' photographs of synagogues from New York, its historic Lower East Side and of Hungary. This body of work will soon be published as a major book on the subject. Together with the Angel Orensanz Foundation, the exhibition is sponsored by the Eldridge Street Project and the Lower East Conservancy.
The exhibition is open Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 6 PM, through November 19, 2004. This major cultural event is a contribution of the Angel Orensanz Foundation to the 350 anniversary of the arrival of the first Jewish community to America. |
