THE OMEN is a contemporary thriller based on the 1976 classic film, about an American official who realizes that his young son may literally be the devil incarnate. ***The film opens on 6/6/06 When: Wednesday, May 31st; press set-up at 6:30: arrivals beginning at 7:00pm Where: Angel Orensanz Foundation, 172 Norfolk Street (between Houston & Stanton) The Angel Orensanz Foundation is housed in one of New York's most unique and historic buildings. Dating from 1849, the building was the cradle of the Jewish Reform movement in America, built after the cathedral of Cologne and characteristic of mid-19th century Europe's best architecture. After decades of spiritual and cultural splendor, the building closed down in 1974 and decayed close to demolition. Angel Orensanz, a Spanish sculptor newly arrived to NY, purchased it in 1986 and slowly has reestablished it as a center for culture and the arts. Here he designs and tests his installations and sculpture projects that are shown in museums and galleries worldwide. Recent visitors to the Foundation have included Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, Lou Reed, Philip Glass. Spike Lee, Whitney Houston, Sidney Lumet, Alexander McQueen, Jim Jarmusch, Zac Posen, Frank Gehry, Mariah Carey, Mandy Patinkin, Gay Talese, Harvey Feierstein, Norman Mailer, Arthur Miller, Elie Wiesel, Maya Angelou, Sarah Jessica Parker and Mathew Broderick, Eminem, P. Diddy, Richard Gere, Rosie O'Donnell, and many others. |
