Felix and Dexter presents: Felix & Dexter
Haling from the Bronx with roots in the Dominican Republic, artist-brother duo Felix and Dexter Ciprián work in art, photography, performance and film. They began their joint venture in 2007 at the annual Deitch Art Parade in SoHo with a piece that was part performance, part sculpture, part event. Since then, their work has been an ongoing effort in the breaking down of labels and categories. Their work embodies an exciting urban edge and an authentic insider-outsider art hope. They have been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, ArtNet Magazine; their latest collaboration “Se Acerca Un Ciclon”, premiered at BAX (Brooklyn Arts Exchange)

CONTACT 2011 / "THE EVOLUTION WILL BE SOCIAL
PAST
October 20, 2011
Contact is a working festival of innovation where the net's leading minds and entrepreneurs can connect with the people who are building the social technologies of tomorrow. The net of the future will not be fueled by ads, but by people solving real problems through distributed, peer-to-peer solutions. This is dormant promise of the Internet, finally coming to fruition. The content of the day will be organized along four main tracks: Technology and Society Business and Economics Arts and Learning Government. But instead of sitting and listening to speeches and panels of world-renowned experts (something we can do just as well online) participants will have the chance to task these innovators and experts with their own challenges.
